Now that Aden is mobile, how do I keep him occupied?
Aden is now increasingly fast and mobile. He follows us around the house. We have done a decent job of babyproofing, but we find that when we cannot chase him we put him in his playyard. Which of course he hates because; dammit Mom!, he wants to be movin’!

Disney this weekend! Well, actually Downtown Disney to be precise. But it is close enough and Aden won’t know the difference. We are going to try out the new restaurant, T-REX, which we have heard lots of wonderful things about. I’m a closet paleontologist so I’ll pretend that I’m twelve and get in the sandpit with the kids to dig for bones. (Yea, I do know that I don’t look anywhere near 12.)

After reading my post about Aden’s favorite toys, a very special friend sent us a set of wooden utensils for Aden to play with. He absolutely loves them! He can’t put them down.
Inexpensive toys that the toddlers can entertain themselves with.
Entertaining a toddler stretches the creative mind to its limits. How does one find an object that will delight and keep a nine-month old busy? I read all the parenting books and took their advice…use everyday objects. It is really amazing how an expensive shiny colorful toy will be passed up for an old wooden spoon.
